Reopening of the Archiepiscopal Museum and of the Saint Andrew's Chapel (Unesco)
After several years of restoration work the Archiepiscopal Museum, which contains Saint Andrew’s Chapel (a UNESCO historic building) will be reopened. The chapel was constructed inside the archbishop’s palace at the end of the 5th century and is full of beautiful mosaics of special interest.
During the holiday period there are a number of opportunities to visit interesting exhibitions in our city: from the stage props and scenery from 30 years of activity of the artistic and historic Monticelli family, in the church of San Domenico, to the considerable number of books, posters, covers, illustrations and documents connected with Futurism, in the Classense Library. Critique in Art, dedicated to young artists, continues at the MAR and the prestigious collection of Contemporary Mosaics is still on display at the National Museum together with the reliefs and watercolours from the late eighteen hundreds and early nineteen hundreds of Mosaico in punta di matita.
While awaiting the Easter concerts, which will be held in various evocative locations of the city, the highly popular music season continues at the Alighieri Theatre with a well chosen selection of orchestras and soloists with famous artists and excellent performances: Traditional Theatre Dante Alighieri - Opera and Dance Season, RavennaMusica 2010 and the Spring Concerts.
