Built by bishop Ecclesius in 525-532, it was rebuilt in 1671 in baroque style. The bell-tower, of cylindrical form, dates to the 9th-10th century. The ancient church had a nave and two aisles and the apse was decorated with mosaics. At the end of the left aisle there is a painting by Luca Longhi depicting Saint Paul visiting Saint Agatha in prison.
